SIMPLY ME

As a 21st century woman, wife, mother and entrepreneur, life has been exciting! The issue has always been balancing the act! How do I stay a loving wife, a doting mother, an actress, scriptwriter, producer, director and business woman? How do I juggle all without dropping the ball? Million dollar question!

Omoniblog1d

Many times, I wish I had some superhuman powers or I could just flick my fingers and my youngest son’s project will get done! Don’t even get me started on that! I think the schools of today are on a ‘punish the parents’ mission. Why do they always have tons of homework that the kids can’t do on their own or projects that a whole community has to be involved in?!!! Anyway, I digress…No day goes by without one of the balls sometimes dropping, almost dropping or being saved at the last minute. I bet you thought I was superwoman. Alas I am not! Many nights, I am so exhausted, I barely have strength to wipe off my makeup and flop on my bed. The weird part though is that I don’t fall asleep right away, I still have to evaluate my day while plotting the next day. As tough as being a woman, wife and mother is, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love every part of my life and I would not be complete without it all. When the going gets tough at work, I just think about my kids and how they are growing everyday, count my blessings and the world is beautiful again.

Don’t you love how the 21st century woman is concerned about her body? I love it! We love to take care of our skin, our hair and above all, our health! We are now concerned with what goes inside us; checking labels to see if harmful chemicals are hiding in our skin care range or our food. I personally like to eat as close to nature as possible. It’s important to make healthy choices, not just for us, but for our families. Let’s get to the real reason why we are here, shall we? Why am I blogging? Good question! I am here to interact more with you, so I will be sharing about myself, family, lifestyle, travels, fashion, food and more. I want to pass on my experiences, both good and bad, but most of all, I want to know your experiences so I can learn from you. I promise to keep it fun,  fresh, vibrant and interactive. I will do my best to answer questions you may have, so keep them coming! Let’s just interact shall we? While we are at it, let’s keep it real! No pretences, no hating, no name calling or insults. Let’s share love and help ourselves become better people. Together, we can help each other grow! I only have love to give. Let me hear your thoughts!

Oh…blog post on the detox program I just did, coming later today…watch this space!

Hey Ijeoma, trust you are well. My dear, my husband is my friend plus we both made up our minds that no matter what, we will stay married. So even when we quarrel, we know we have to settle on time. We try to keep the communication lines open so we can always thrash issues before they become major problems. Above all, we have Jesus as our confidant and helper. We don’t share our issues with outsiders. I hope this helps! Hugs

Hello. So glad you are doing this. I love it when women keep it real. First, let me bless your family. You are a wonderful woman and I love everything about you. Back to me! I need your advice. I will be getting married in few months and to be honest, I have a lot on my mind. Things like balancing my job plus my new status and when God bless me with kids. Sometimes I ask myself if am going to be a good wife and a good mother. Am based outside Nigeria, and am sure you know how it is if one is out of job. So, keeping my job is a must, getting married is also a must, and of course I want kids. How do I put this together without dropping a ball.

      Reply

Hi Funmi, congrats on your upcoming marriage. Don’t overstress hun. Just pray for wisdom to know what to do at all times. I think God gives us grace for each level so you’ll find that once you have kids, the grace to be a good mom will come. A good support system is very important and putting your kids in a routine is crucial. Sometimes it will feel like it’s all a little too much but don’t worry, you are not alone. We all feel that way. Just be rest assured that we will all be fine. Much love

  39. I am a woman who visions my life just as told by you. I have definitely not achieved half of what you have. Just from university and fresh in the universe. I thank God cause so far I have got a lot going for me.
It starts from an elder sister who is my inspiration and mentor. Based on the website I wrote its the 1st online magazine showcasing fem-leader. Not owned by me but my my elder sister May-Marie who is the editor in chief. From her initiative I brought to light “illuminating ladies”…we serve as ambassadors to the illuminessence magazine and also help the girl child in our community to grow. March 8 as illuminating ladies we would be going public….trying to let the world know us but as I said we are only babies.
Apart from illuminating ladies which was initiated to help my sister’s vision become a reality…I am also a growing writer, an on the process actress and an environmentalist as an academic path.
I am inspired by you…watch almost all ur movies. If u want to know more about illuminating ladies click on the website given and search illuminating ladies.
Let me know what you think…I look forward to a conversation with you on how I can be that woman who can look back on her path and feel satisfied as u are right now.

Hey dear, there’s a lot of information online for natural hair. All hair types are different and there’s no one size fits all. Most important thing is to study your hair, you’ll get to know what your hair likes and what it doesn’t. Make sure you condition regularly and hydrate. Natural hair loves water. I always have a spray bottle of water that I spray on my hair, day and night. Good luck!
