Hey #omonifam, trust you all are well! So today, I’ve decided to let you all in on a little secret recipe of mine! Well to be honest it’s not a huge secret. People have been doing sugar scrubs for a long time but I find this one works well for me. So here goes…

WHAT YOU NEED
1/2 fresh lemon
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1 tbsp of olive oil
1 tbsp of organic honey
1 littlle bowl.

Let’s take a look at the ingredients and see what they can do for your skin.
Lemon contains vitamin C. It can help to lighten spots and even out skin tone. It also tightens pores and brightens the complexion.
Sugar is an exfoliator. It contains glycolic acid which evens out skin tone, cleans pores, and improves overall skin texture by removing dead, dull skin cells.

Olive Oil is high in vitamin E. It can soothe and heal the skin. It moisturizes and can be used for anti-aging.
Honey is a good source of anti-oxidants. Used for age prevention. It is a natural humectant keeps the skin hydrated. Great for acne-prone skin by reducing breakouts.

Instructions:
Add lemon juice and olive oil in to a bowl and mix together. Add the honey and whisk or stir quickly. You can add or subtract the amount of olive oil and honey that you use depending on how thick you want your scrub to be. I would use one half of a freshly cut lemon for every 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Combine the sugar and mix thoroughly.

Use to scrub your clean face in gentle circular motions. Leave on for about 10 minutes and rinse off with cool water. This scrub is ideal for people who suffer from breakouts and acne as all of the ingredients are highly beneficial to acne-prone skin. You can also use this scrub all over your body.

How’s our smoothie challenge getting along? A lot of you have been asking for the local name of spinach. I think it’s Amunututu. Who knows if this is right?

Hugs and kisses!!!

Hi Omoni,do i have to make the scrub everytime,or i could just make it biweekly and store? If yes, what’s the best way for storage. Thanks

Hey Seyi, I believe you can store for as long as 2 weeks in the fridge. I don’t think you should use scrubs daily on your face because it might get too sensitive. At most twice a week. I recommend you just use the leftover as a body scrub? It’s great for your body too! Cheers

Hello Omoni, Great Job i must say. I would appreciate if you have any take on black spots. Like what to do, eat etc. Hope to hear from you.

Unfortunately, from my research, the only way to lighten spots (am guessing caused by acne) is to use a lightening agent. I guess when the spots clear and you stop using the skin lightening cream, your skin will revert to its original skin tone. Hope this helps. Cheers!
