Hey Naturalista, how’s that Henna going?

Hey Naturalista! How’s that henna going? Hey dolls, how are you doing? This blogging thing is not a joking ‘sturvs’ o! I honestly am always so swamped with work, it’s tough to find time to blog but no excuses…lol. I’m just here, sitting on a plane and thinking about the fact that ‘Omoni Curls’ (that’s what I call my hair for those who don’t know) is 2 years old! Reflecting on my journey, thinking about the experiments that have worked for me and the ones that haven’t and I want to share again my love for henna. Ok let me be honest, I used to try to henna at least once a month but I’ve not been able to keep up. I end up doing it once in 2 or 3 months. I have shared my henna recipe before but let me share again for those who didn’t see that post. I do what’s refered to as a ‘henna gloss’. There are also many ways to do a henna gloss but if you are like me, you want the easiest, least stressful method! So here goes! Get some protein free conditioner. It’s advisable to get a thick one that won’t leave a runny mess. Mix anywhere from a heaped tablespoons to about 100g of henna powder into the conditioner. Apply to hair Put on a plastic cap and a heat cap that will help release the dye. Leave in for at least 2 hours and rinse off. Apply another conditioner to detangle. Rinse off and use your normal leave in conditioner (make sure it’s very moisturizing) and whatever treatment you use. What I like most is you don’t even need gloves for this method and it doesn’t leave a mess too! Viola! Your hair gets fuller, shinier, thicker. Has anyone tried henna yet? Drop me a comment on what you think about its effect on your hair. If you also have another method you think is better or faster, I’d be more than happy to read it! Take care of you and stay in touch! Hugs and kisses

Hi ma, I’m actually on low cut at present. I love your hair, it’s just so beautiful and I so wish to learn from you. I want to make and maintain my hair, but I’m not sure of what hair product to use, routine to follow and other tips to follow. I will feel so honoured to get a little tips from you. Thank you ma.

I tried henna two days ago I mixed with water that had green tea in it before. Applied to my hair afterwards. It was soooo runny I couldn’t leave it for more than 30 mins..had to rinse off!
If I had seen this before I’d have done it differently. How about the tiny particles that gets left behind. I had to rinse and rinse..till now they still come off when I comb

Hi Ufo, This is definitely a much better way. The particles can be a bother but they’ll come off in your next wash.

Try adding some essential oil (peppermint or tea tree) to your base oil (castor) and massage your edges with it every night. Be consistent and patient. You’ll see results. Also stay away from tight hairstyles that pull on your edges. Hope this helps

Hi, am always in love with your hair ma. HairCrush always. Pls will like to know if this henna recipe colours your hair. I want to add henna to my regime and I also want the dye effect. Thank you

It doesn’t leave an obvious colour unless your hair colour is light to start with. It will colour your grey hairs if you have any. But if you are standing under the sun, you’ll notice a slight reddish hue.

Hi First Lady, I’m new to the blog, I’m really frustrated with my relaxed hair. I’ve finally decided to do the transition to natural hair and I’ll really appreciate it if u can help with shampoo, conditioner and oils to use. I know it’s not going to be an easy journey so I need all the help and support I can get. Thanks.
    I love your hair.
